Meet The Partners

Dr. Ahmed A. Alsharif

Founding Partner and CEO

Dr. Ahmed A. Alsharif is an investor and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in Egypt and the MENA region. He is the Founding Partner and CEO of Averroes Ventures, a venture capital and management firm investing catering for early-stage startups, with investments including Breadfast, Trukker, Nawah Scientific, Illa, and Khazenly.

Dr. Alsharif has led diversified investments across manufacturing, food industries, retail, and finance, structuring both debt and equity and supporting ventures from inception through scale. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Abdullatif Alsharif Group, overseeing multi-sector operations with a long-standing family business legacy.

An active contributor to the entrepreneurship ecosystem, he founded and led the Venture Capital Chapter at the Egyptian Private Equity Association (EPEA) and is a member of the Entrepreneurship Committee held by the Prime Minister.

Dr. Alsharif holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics from the American University in Cairo; he holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, UK. In addition, he holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Durham University Business School of the University of Durham in England, UK. He’s been awarded for best thesis researching entrepreneurial finance and the venture capital industry in Egypt and the MENA region.
